Privacy policy

In plain words

We collect what we need to run the course and make it better: your account, your work, and how you move through the lessons. What you type to Mira and Tez is sent to an AI model to get a reply. We don’t sell your data. You can see it, correct it or have it deleted — just write to us.

  1. Who is responsible

    Karthik Narayan (Learn AI with AI, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India) is the data fiduciary for the personal data described here, under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

  2. What we collect

    • Account: your name, email and profile picture from the sign-in you choose (email, Google or GitHub).
    • Your work: your progress, your answers and explanations, what you say to Mira and Tez, the apps and files you build, your notes, and the feedback you send us.
    • How you use the course: pages you open, what you click, time active in a module, and text you type into course fields — never passwords or payment details. This is how we find the lessons that confuse people and fix them.
    • Payments: the plan you bought, the amount and the Razorpay order and payment IDs. Your card, UPI or bank details go to Razorpay, not to us.
    • Technical: basic logs such as browser type and error reports, to keep the service working and secure.

  3. Why we use it

    • To run your account and save your work across devices.
    • To teach: Mira reads your answers to coach you and to decide when a module is complete.
    • To issue your certificate and — only if you turn it on — your public portfolio.
    • To improve the course, find bugs and prevent abuse.
    • To take payments and meet legal and tax obligations.

  4. AI processing

    To produce replies, what you write in a lesson and your app’s code are sent to Google’s Gemini API. We use Google’s paid API, under which Google does not use that content to train its models. We don’t send your email address or payment details to the AI.

  5. Who else handles it

    We don’t sell your personal data or share it for others’ advertising. We use these providers to run the service, each only for its part:

    • Clerk — sign-in and account security
    • Vercel — hosting the site and the apps you build
    • Neon — our database
    • Google — AI models (Gemini) and voice
    • Razorpay — payments
    • GitHub — only when you choose to push a project to your GitHub

    Some of these providers store data outside India, with safeguards required by law. We may disclose data if the law requires it.

  6. What's public

    Nothing about you is public by default. Your portfolio is public only if you switch it on in Settings. A certificate link and an app link are visible to whoever you share them with.

  7. How long we keep it

    • Your account and work: while your account is open.
    • The usage log (clicks, time, typing in course fields): 120 days.
    • Payment records: as long as tax law requires.
    • When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except records the law requires us to keep.

  8. Your rights

    You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it erased, or to withdraw your consent (which may mean closing your account). You can also nominate someone to act for you. Write to karthik.narayan511@gmail.com; we respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

  9. Cookies and storage

    We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in, remember that you’ve completed onboarding and keep the site secure, and your browser’s storage to cache your work so it opens quickly. We don’t use advertising cookies. If that changes, we’ll update this page and ask for consent where required.

  10. Age

    The course is for people 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child has an account, tell us and we’ll delete it.

  11. Security

    Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to what’s needed to run the course, and payment details never touch our servers. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we’ll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

  12. Changes

    If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and tell you before the change applies.
